Adjacent to the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University, the neighborhood of Charles Village is home to many amenities, including a year-round farmers' market on Saturdays, an independent grocery store, a pharmacy, an expansive dog park, multiple bookstores, a handful of dry cleaners, as well as banks, a fedex, 24 hour convenience stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops including Bird in Hand Coffee and Books, and The Baltimore Museum of Art. Over on Greenmount Avenue, a large supermarket, hardware store, gas station, Red Emma's Bookstore and Coffee House, the Enoch Pratt Free Library Waverly Branch and other necessities are just a stone's throw away.

Situated a block from St Paul Street, Calvert Court is close to central bus lines, including the free Charm City Circulator, that run downtown, making Penn Station about a 10 minute bus ride away. The Hampden neighborhood, where one may find many eclectic restaurants and bars, as well as quirky shops and antiques, is a 20 minute walk around or through the Johns Hopkins University campus. The Remington neighborhood, a 15 minute walk away, is home to a food hall/restaurant incubator, contemporary theater, and a speakeasy.
